For my third year at university, it began with writing my dissertation. With a strong fascination on artificial intelligence, I wanted to dig deeper into how this evolving technology could impact the architectural realm. This is where cybernetic architecture was developed. This is the co-existence of the Manmade/Artificial/Natural each taking their turn to help the other. This theory can then be applied to construction.
The next term then began with the design and modelling of a university building. I chose to create a drama school ‘The ARC,’ in a similar aesthetic to the National Theatre in London. Where exposed concrete symbolises an openness for everyone. Traditional theatres typically utilise red carpets and gold accents to symbolise prestigiousness, only for the elite.
